Qualifications and experience:
|
B.Eng, BSc or BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering
Candidate must be professionally registered with ECSA
Minimum of 8 year’s relevant experience in the built environment (Hospitals, Clinics, Commercial Buildings, Offices, workshops, stores, etc.).
Engineering experience in large projects covering relevant divisional requirements.
Experience in construction administration and management.

Responsibilities:
|
Have staff management and financial control capabilities and skills
Basic skill sets on financial management, project management and office administration will be beneficial
Sound knowledge of National Building Regulations requirements and relevant OSHA incorporated standards as well as standards related to health facilities and systems.
Knowledge of the following systems and associated mechanical equipment in the Health environment and other will be beneficial - HVAC & R, Vertical Transportation, Building Wet Services, Fire protection and smoke ventilation ; Kitchen equipment, Laundry equipment, Medical gas design, Vacuum & Compressed air and other related systems
Knowledge of construction contracts, such as GCC, FIDIC, PROCSA, NEC and other will be beneficial.
The incumbent will be required to take responsibility for various building services designs on a variety of mechanical building services
This person will have to be accurate and have good computer skills.
It will be required from the candidate to interact with clients and have good communication skills
Provide project information and assistance to Project and Portion Leaders to enable effective project management
The candidate must be able to compile project proposals and reports and have good writing skills
Prepare project documents to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects
Prepare project cost budgets on mechanical systems
Capable of independently managing projects from inception to close-out
Strong client interface skills—building trust and understanding client needs
Marketing and networking to secure repeat business
Established client base is highly valuable
Effective leadership staff on large projects and strong communication and resource management skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team leader
Effective management of debt and professional fees and strong time, quality, and cost management
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong technical report writing capabilities
Ability to effectively convey information
Critical thinking and logical problem-solving
Strong judgment, decision-making, and reasoning skills
Application of scientific methods to solve problems
Ability to cope in high-pressure environments
Work efficiently without supervision while coordinating inputs from specialists

Requirements:
|
|
Proficiency in AutoCad, Revit, MS Products and the HAP HVAC design modelling program will be beneficial to the applicant
|
|
