Requirements:
|
1. Purpose of Role
-This role is responsible to supports the Plant Production Manager to optimise and continually improve the technical operation of a plant. Control the plant within the technical recipe defined. Ensure technical audit of the plant is conducted to required standards. Provide technical support to production manager of plant operations. Ensure that recommendations as to plant improvement are considered in the “recipe” review process.
2. Work of Role
-Assist operations personnel to implement agreed guidelines, rules and recipe for the plant
-Audit compliance to “recipe” and liaise with plant personnel
-Provide/liaise with external resources to conduct agreed plant surveys/audit processes
-Manage metallurgical talent assigned to technical function in own area
-Recommend technical corrective action to operation’s production personnel
-Monitor trend, interpret, and report plant key process parameters for discussion with central technical structure
-Monitor, trend, interpret and report key process parameters
-Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement
-Identify key performance shortfalls and liaise/communicate with central technical function
-Troubleshoot and resolve operation problems within plant operating “recipe”
-Ongoing support to plant production team to achieve operational goals
-Facilitate technology transfer from centre
-Project execution of agreed audit work & plant surveys (plant diagnostics)
-Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships
3. Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in Extraction Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering
4. Experience
-Minimum of 7 years post qualification plant experience in metallurgy production / technical environment
-Legal requirement for appointment production
5. Knowledge and Skills
-Valid driving license
-English literate
-Computer literacy for the role
