Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Banksman fulfils a shift role on a shaft and is responsible for the safe flow of materials, equipment and employees through the bank area to and from the shaft stations. He is also required to ensure the operational effectiveness of the shaft head.
2. WORK OF ROLE
- Controls administration of shift
- Maintains ‘Zero tolerance’ levels throughout shift
- Maintenance of the shaft head and bank operational effectiveness
- Monitor/record/report defects and sub-standard equipment
- Movement of employees
- Receives and checks material cars from yard and explosives trucks
- Reception and delivery of employees/equipment/material to the underground operation
3. QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12
• Onsetter Certificate
4. EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Onsetter in an operational shaft
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Certificate of Fitness
• Valid Red Ticket
