Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- This role is responsible to assist the Planned Maintenance Officer in the coordination, facilitation and management of the maintenance management programme for mines and plants by providing planning, control systems and maintenance of policies and strategies for the management of equipment whilst optimising the interface with other mine and plant systems and functions.
2. WORK OF ROLE
- Assist in ensuring that all work is controlled by works orders and information loops are closed
- Assist in ensuring that the Delta PM, MM and CO systems are properly supported
- Assists in ensuring that shutdowns follow pre-set targets in accordance with critical path analysis
- Identifies significant recurring failure patterns by analyzing maintenance history
- On a daily basis, executes capacity planning and ensures that both preventative and corrective maintenance is covered
- Participate in RCM exercises for all new equipment before commissioning
- Participate in the development RCM based task lists for all maintenance significant equipment
- Participates in cross functional engineering and production teams to minimize reactive maintenance
- Support cross functional teams to address cleaning, lubrication and first line maintenance functions
- Support preventive actions to ensure cost effective maintenance programs
- Support programs to minimize unplanned downtime on key equipment
3. QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
4. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1-year experience as an Engineering Assistant
- Experienced in using a computerized planned maintenance system
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Basic artisan training module
- Basic artisan assistant phase 2 will be advantageous
- Reliability Centered Maintenance or equivalent will be advantageous
- Ability to plan and organize
- Working knowledge of client disciplines – metallurgy, mining, engineering
- Ability to schedule and manage maintenance activities
- Computer literate for role
