Requirements:
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- This role is a specialist role within the human resources structure responsible to promote effective employee relations practices among employees and the employer. The role must ensure that system, policies, and procedures are adhered to. Manage a team of Employee Relation Assistants in the provision of these services.

2. WORK OF ROLE
- Contribute to HR’s planning process
- Control discipline and ensure fair decisions regarding industrial relations by following procedures and ensuring that at stakeholders are well versed in the procedures
- Effective application of necessary administration system
- Effective employee relation services to management and employees
- Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to
- Ensure that system administration requirements are complied with
- Ensure that system technical data is accurately captured and secure
- Hold disciplinary and grievance inquiries as prescribe by the policy and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve function
- Identify potential conflict situations, identify root causes and propose actions steps
- Monitor the ER process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards and procedures by clients
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers

3. QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- NQF Level 6 Diploma in Human Resource Management / Employee Relations
- Degree in Human Resource Management / Employee Relations - Advantageous

4. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Human Resources / Employee Relations Function
- CCMA experience required

5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literate
- Competent in mine HR systems
- Human Resources Legislation
- Labour Relations Act
- Basic Conditions of Employment Act
