Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Fulfils a shift role in development operations and is responsible to, make the workplace safe, remove broken rock, support the workplace, prepare the face for drilling, drill the face and assist with charging duties.
2. WORK OF ROLE
- Blasting barricades are installed/moved forward
- Broken rock is removed within the specified time limit
- Clean working area
- Compliance to specific requirements (legal, standards, procedures and working guides)
- Connect for blasting
- Drilled / crosscuts/ haulages/ raizes /winzes and ore pass face
- Face preparation
- Footwall is cleaned to the correct distance from the face
- Hanging, sidewall and face is barred to solid
- Inspect machine air leg and drill steel
- Installing/extending/maintaining service
- Maintained drill and hoses
- Misfires are dealt with
- Panel charged and connected for blasting
- Safe working areas
- Safety and risk compliance
- Services and ventilation requirements are within the prescribed requirements
- Sockets are washed and plugged
- Strike and centre gullies cleaned of broken rock
- Supported workplace - Prescribed support standards are met
3. QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 10
- Developing Machine Operator Certificate of Competency
4. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Developing Machine Operator
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Passed the requirements of unit standards applicable to a Development Machine Operator
- Passed basic development operator equipment maintenance course
- English literate
- Dover assessment
