Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The role entails the development and implementation of global strategies to optimize logistics, procurement, inventory, and warehousing costs, through management of a broad team structure and engagement with key stakeholders.
2. WORK OF ROLE
- Developing policies and procedures
- Executive engagement for key strategic projects if and when required e.g. Inventory optimization, restructuring etc. reports for operations, etc.
- Governance, requisition to pay process for operations and supplier relationship management.
- Leading physical supply chain Including logistics and distribution, contract management implementation and adherence to, and local procurement to ensure optimal supply to the operations (small BEE companies with 70% of services procured should be local).
- Managing cross-functional teams made up of logistics specialist, senior buyers, site managers, etc.
- Managing of end user requirements in particular general manager of operations and senior financial manager to ensure optimal supply and availability of inventory at the right levels
3. QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing / Finance / Commerce
4. EXPERIENCE
- Senior management experience in the mining industry or related area is a distinct advantage
- Senior management experience in an industry with high inventory turnover / stock velocities
- At least 10 years’ experience at senior management level, in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Procurement
- Finance
- Materials management
- Logistics
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Competent in operational and supply chain processes and relevant legislation
- Valid driver’s license
