Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The Project Engineer is responsible for providing a dedicated project management service to the operations to support capital and expansion projects.
2. WORK OF ROLE
- Administration of necessary systems
- Conduct appropriate background research for projects
- Conduct data collection field studies
- Continually ensure that benchmarking studies are conducted in order to remain abreast with changes in technology
- Develop appropriate technical and financial models in conjunction with internal and external service providers
- Effective management for agreed ongoing, expansion and site driven projects
- Effective project team management
- Ensure that relevant standards, specifications, and processes are integrated with relevant project plans and designs
- Ensure that statutory regulations are applied in recommendations
- Ensure that the project plans are accurate and schedule the activities required for successful completion
- Identify business risk in projects and advise on appropriate actions
- Provide input to the establishment and development of appropriate specifications, standards and procedures for all issues relating to project design, materials technology, and quality assurance/control
- Supporting the identification of feasible projects
3. QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- National Diploma or Degree in Engineering
- Government Certificate of Competency
4. EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years experienced in project site management
- Minimum of 5 years post engineering qualification experience with three years in mining / plants
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Valid driver’s license
- Supervisory experience
- Computer literacy for role
