Requirements:
Purpose Statement

The Hatchling Programme Manager (HPM) is responsible for training and upskilling new Casa Management and to build a pipeline of future Casa Managers within the Nando’s SA business.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Train-the-trainer certification
3 – 5 years of restaurant management experience
Minimum 2 years of restaurant training experience
Experience as a training facilitator

Advantageous:

Content development experience
Food and Beverage /Business Management Diploma
Registered Assessor

Knowledge of adult learning concepts, principles, practices and procedures (Advanced)
Knowledge of training industry standards (Advanced)
Knowledge and understanding of the restaurant/hospitality industry (Advanced)
Knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and customer service best practices (Advanced)

Position Description

Talent Identification:

Identify relevant management talent pools to support Casa talent requirements in the region
Map Casa management talent with managers in the region to identify candidates for development, coaching and/or mentoring
Create an appropriate and relevant talent plan based on the findings

Programme Application Management:

Liaise with the region on different Hatchling/trainee management programmes offered, providing details and outlining the criteria for application
Review applications, checking for completion and confirm that the Nandoca meets the minimum criteria
Review assessment reports and advise the Regional Training Manager of successful candidates
Advise successful candidates of the way forward regarding the process and programme attendance

Programme Planning and Coordination:

Plan and coordinate programmes, following the training plan
Communicate the Hatchling training programme calendar to Regional Support members and other stakeholders
Manage the cost per head programme budget. Manage the logistics associated with the Hatchling training programs, including materials, rooms, and equipment.

Programme Implementation And Facilitation:

Facilitate the classroom component of the various Hatchling programmes
Provide feedback to the Casas on the progress of candidates
Input, upload and manage all relevant documentation through the learning management system (Signify)
Review the progress of the candidate and update the relevant Line Managers and stakeholders
Monitor and manage the completion of online training assessments
Manage and upload attendance registers and report all non-attendance
Conduct mid-term and end-of-cycle programme assessments, coaching candidates as and when required
Conduct final practical assessment, invigilate online assessment and complete the certification process
Monitor candidate Portfolio of Evidence (POE) files
Consolidate a final file for each candidate, including assessments, POE and module assessments on the learning management system and report to the regional training
management for final assessment
Complete the predetermined moderation process to ensure the Nandocas have met the requirements for certification

Programme Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all the training undertaken for the Hatchling programme cycle
Complete the Hatchling Programme training records per cycle per region for submission to the relevant regional Line Manager, Regional Training Manager and relevant stakeholders
Complete attendance registers, feedback forms and general training administration for submission through the LMS (Signify)
Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with regulations

Annual Management Certification Process:

Manage the annual re-licensing process for the region, in line with the policy
Update and quality assure the re-licensing assessment and provide feedback to the Regional Training Manager
Communicate the annual re-licensing process, schedule and plan to the region
Collate the schedule of all regional inputs to create the final schedule
Set up and manage logistics for the process
Invigilate re-licensing assessments
Monitor and report on attendance to the Regional Training Manager
Provide certifications to successful Managers, Report on unsuccessful candidates, and reschedule in accordance with the policy.

Content Development and Updating:

Review existing training material and update it based on business requirements or changes
Review training files in accordance with process changes
Quality assure all content before the start of each Hatchlings cycle
