Senior Personnel Practitioner: Health and Productivity (SHERQ)

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to function under pressure and handle a high work volume. Ability to prioritise and organise work and to exercise self-discipline. Ability to work independently without supervision. Communication skills (written and verbal). Computer Proficiency (MS Office (Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, email). Creativity, self-motivation and assertiveness. Presentation and facilitation skills. Research, conceptualisation, statistical analysis and analytical skills. Understanding of Employee Health and Wellness Framework for the Public Service.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Administer and promote Health, Wellness and Safety programmes for employees in the Department. Administer contract management in the SHERQ and Health and Productivity Focus Areas. Administer Health and Safety departmental audits and reporting. Administer the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of strategies, programmes, policies and projects for Health and Productivity and SHERQ within budgetary guidelines as per DPSA Employee Health and Wellness Strategic Framework. Assist with the development of monitoring and evaluation tools for the implementation of a DPSA M and E framework. Conduct research analysis to identify determinants of ill-health, injury on duty and occupational diseases. Provide administrative support to provincial steercom committees.
 
Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience and knowledge in Employee Health and Wellness.

Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to travel and overnight at various workplaces across the geographical area of the Western Cape and other provinces.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 316 791- R 373 167 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
