Chief Occupational Therapist Grade 1

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA in Occupational Therapy.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge of applicable health legislation, relevant acts and public service policies and procedures. Understanding of evidence-based practice and knowledge of PSR model in a Mental health environment. Good organizational and planning abilities. Computer literacy. Fluency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Appropriate Mental Health experience.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provide evidence based Clinical Service in the Vocational Rehabilitation Unit. Ensure progress and development of the OT services rendered to the Psychogeriatric and Work Assessment units. Administration related to clinical service delivery. Ensure good Corporate Governance. Support to HOD.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 466 119- R 517 326 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
