Senior Administrative Officer: Support Services

  Forensic Pathology Services (Chief Directorate: Emergency and Clinical Support Services)
 
Minimum educational qualifications:
Appropriate three-year qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Public Administration or Public Management.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good written and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Above average computer and software literacy. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
 
Experience:
Appropriate supervisory experience. Appropriate experience in Administrative, Supply Chain, Human resources, Labour Relations and Asset management. Appropriate experience in LOGIS, BAS. Appropriate experience in a Mortuary Environment with docket management and the FPS business processes.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Supervise all administrative staff Ensure effective and efficient administrative support at the Forensic Pathology laboratory, overall supervision of administration and Support Personnel. Effective management of assets and stores as per the Supply Chain Management Policies and prescripts. Effective management of Forensic documentations, audit trails and archiving. Efficient and effective management of unknown corpses and pauper cases, and responsible for training of subordinates in the Administration and Support Component. Responsible for recruitment and selection process, effective application of the Staff Performance Management System (SPMS) and procedures. Oversee the correct application of Acts, prescripts, policies, and procedures with regard to Administrative and Support Human Resource Management). Responsible for all the procurement at the facility and ensure compliance to the PFMA and Financial policies. Assist Facility Manager with Budgeting and Expenditure Projections.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) drivers licence. May be required to work overtime.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 316 791- R 373 167 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
