Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Clinical Nurse Training)

Inherent requirement of the job:
A valid (Code B/EB) drivers licence. Willingness to work weekends, overtime, after hours, Public Holidays and Night Duty.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to effectively communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Good interpersonal, leadership, communication skills, strong sense of responsibility. Ability to promote quality nursing care and implementation of and monitoring of standards in speciality area. Report writing skills and Computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
 
Requirement:
Basic R425 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic qualification, with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Current registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Facilitate and assist with the management of study leave, internal and external course allocation. Ensure effective implementation and compliance with relevant legislation/policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of nursing care. Responsible for student management processes. Responsible to represent the nursing department on the human resource and development training committee and any relevant supportive functions and committees. Responsible for orientation, induction, mentoring and continuous education processes of nursing personnel including students in the nursing department. Facilitate and implement an effective in-service training programme, and conduct nursing training needs analysis in the nursing department.

Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 388 974 (PN-B1) -R 450 939 per annum, Grade 2: R 478 404 (PN-B2)- R 588 390 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
