Administrative Officer: Finance Admin (Wards and Clinics)

Experience:
Appropriate experience in ward/clinic administration, patient administration, debt management, and/or hospital accounting environment. Appropriate supervisory experience. Appropriate Clinicom, JAC, and the Accounts Receivable System experience in a Patient and ward/clinics Administration environment.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good communications skills (written and verbal) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize responsibilities with analytical reasoning. Knowledge of Patient Administration related policies, procedures, and practices. Ability to maintain a filing system. Ability to work under pressure. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Conversant with Uniform Patient Fee Schedule (UPFS), Hospital Fees Memorandum Chapter 18, and the Hospital Information System (Accounts Receivable System, Clinicom, JAC). Excellent interpersonal skills addressing diverse cultures and the ability to work in a team. Conflict resolution skills. Good Management and Labour Relations skills. Computer literacy (MS Office, Clinicom, JAC, and Accounts Receivable).
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Manage Wards/Clinics and Patient Administration. Manage Human Resources in Wards/Clinics and Patient Administration including Labour Relations, Financial Management, PERMIS, training, and development of staff, duty rosters. Deliver a professional service. Reporting on ward/clinic and Patient Administration, including meetings and forums. Perform shift work and be available on a 24-hour basis. Ensure accurate classification of all patients/debtors. Management of all administrative functions pertaining to attendances, admissions, booking of appointments, and handling of receipts on Clinicom. Manage financial transactions (Cash Collection, Handover Certificates, and Collectors Reports).

Note:

Minimum educational qualification:
Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 261 372 - R 307 890 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
