Developmental Youth (VARIOUS POSTS): ATA (ASSISTANT TO ARTISAN), GROUNDSMAN, LAUNDRY AND LINNEN ASSISTANT

Requirements:
Minimum requirement:
• General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) /grade 9 (Std 7).
Inherent requirement of the job:
• Physically fit to do manual labour.
• Must be the ages between 18 – 35 years old.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
• Ability to handle tools.
• Good interpersonal relations with supervisor,colleagues and the public.
• Ability to function in a group.
• Ability to read, speak and write in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs)
ATA (ASSISTANT TO ARTISAN):
• Assistant Artisan or Handyman with technical work.
• Make all tools and material available before commencing.
• Clean areas on completion of work.

GROUNDSMAN:
• Clean grounds at health facilities by utilizing hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Assist with the maintenance of buildings through the cleaning of roofs, gutters, drains and ablution facilities at Health Institutions.
• Load tools & materials before commencing of projects and clean areas on completion of work.

LAUNDRY AND LINNEN ASSISTANT:
• Washing, drying, folding and ironing of linen, clothing and other textiles.Clean grounds at health facilities by utilizing hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• The load/unload of clean/dirty washing and loading/unloading of washing machines and tumble dryers.Assist with the maintenance of buildings through the cleaning of roofs, gutters, drains and ablution facilities at Health Institutions.
• Assist with the mixing of chemicals used in the washing process.Load tools & materials before commencing of projects and clean areas on completion of work.
• Monitor the quality work. The emptying of soiled linen bags for sorting and counting, the sealing and stacking of clean packed linen bags for dispatch purposes.

Stipend: R3 575,75 Per month
