“Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted with their job application/on appointment. This concession is only applicable to candidates who apply for the first time for registration in the post basic qualification: in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (48). Only officials within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (48).
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Nursing and public service legislation. Ability to effectively communicate in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
 
Experience:
Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification as mentioned above.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provision of quality comprehensive community health care and clinical service. Manage the burden of disease, renders clinical services Provision of Administrative services. Manage stats and assist Operational manager with administration functions Provision of Educational services. Implement nursing care management activities according to the Standards of Practice and Scope of Practice and act upon breaching of laws relating to nursing practice and professional code of conduct and practice standards. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders: Collaborate with members of the health and social care teams and assist in decision-making pertaining to health care delivery. Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively. Create an environment of learning opportunities that foster professional growth and improvement in nursing and health care.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwife.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license. Willingness to work after hours when necessary.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 388 974 (PN-B1) -R 450 939 per annum, Grade 2: R 478 404 (PN-B2)- R 588 390 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
