Experience:
Appropriate administrative experience in a hospital environment. Appropriate experience of a patient information system such as Clinicom /Delta 9 or similar.
 
Note:
Candidates will be subjected to a practical test. Only officials employed by the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for these posts.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer literacy in MS Office. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to adhere to patient confidentiality.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Deliver an effective administrative support service to members of the Health team. Efficient record-keeping of appropriate patient activities, eg. Transport, transfers, appointments, lab reports. Perform administrative duties, eg. typing, filing, faxing, and photocopying. Answer telephonic enquiries and arrange appointments. Complete and file documents according to the filing system of the Department. Correct handling of patient folders. Arrange and take minutes in meetings. Complete daily, weekly and monthly statistics, report and data capturing.

Minimum educational qualification:
Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Willingness to Work Shifts, Weekends and Public Holidays.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 176 310- R 207 681 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
