CSSD Manager

Experience:
Appropriate experience as a CSSD Supervisor in a health environment.
 
Requirements:
Appropriate three-year National Diploma/Degree.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good verbal and written communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Sound knowledge of sterilization and gas sterilization practices and processes. Sound Knowledge of sterilisation methods. Knowledge of packaging of instruments and cleaning and testing of sterilization units. Knowledge of sterilising tests and reporting of defects. (Test data), Knowledge of applicable safety standards, and elementary stock control / management. Sound interpersonal and negotiating skills. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Management, organization and control of Central Sterile Services Department and Gas Sterilization units. Human resource management and financial resource management of the CSSD and the GSU. Cleaned, packed, sterilised, and controlled consumables and equipment. Optimal tested and functional sterilising equipment and washing machines. Effectively organised Central Processing Department. Effectively maintained ethical standards, code of conduct and self development.

Note:

Inherent requirement of the job:
Work shifts on both day or night duty, on weekends and public holidays.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 382 245- R 450 255 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
