Operational Manager Nursing (PHC)

Experience:
A minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification in the specific specialty.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse and midwife. Post-basic qualification with duration of at least one year Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (R48).
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel) Ability to effectively communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Effective execution and integrated management of all clinical programmes (i.e. Acute, Chronic, Woman- and Child Health and TB/HIV/AIDS/STI). Manage control and act in facet of Health, Support, Security, Cleaning, Infection control and Ground services. Effective management of Support Services which includes, Information Management with regards to data collection, verification, report writing and submission of data, Human Resources (supervision of staff, employee development, employee relations and performance management), Finance and Supply Chain. Personnel matters including supervision and performance management, finances and procuring as well as implementing of policies, prescripts and protocols regarding the mentioned facets. Liaison and effective communication with relevant stakeholders including Facility Committees and Community Structures.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good interpersonal, leadership and management skills. Ability to direct the team to ensure quality holistic health care and to function independently in a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of nursing and public service legislation. Knowledge of Human resource, financial and supply chain policies, and guidelines.

Registration with a professional council:
Proof of current registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and midwife.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 571 242 (PN-B3) per annum - R 642 933 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
