| Provide a comprehensive social work service in a health care setting. These includes psychosocial assessments, appropriate referrals, care plans for patients and counselling patients and families. Maintain all administration functions on work undertaken. Undertake telephonic patient follow up. Provide appropriate follow up to Multidisciplinary team. Undertake training as required. |

| The main purpose of the internship is to provide unemployed social work graduates with an opportunity to work alongside experienced social workers to gain practical and vital experience and insight into social issues, whilst providing social work services to health care users. All applicants are to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae; 3 referee reports, Identity Document and SACSSP registration certificate as Social Worker. The intern social worker will be supervised by a designated supervisor to perform the following responsibilities. Candidates may be subjected to a competency test. No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. |
