| A minimum of 7 years appropriate/ recognizable experience after registration as a Professional nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. |

| Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. |
| |

| Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. |

| Good managerial, supervisory, motivation, negotiation, interpersonal, problem solving, change management, decision making, disciplinary and conflict management skills. Good leadership and organizational skills and ability to function under pressure. Sound knowledge and understanding of the guidelines and SOP’s, and Nursing and Health Services related Acts, Legislation and Policies. Computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). |

| Supervise, support, guide, and lead staff to render quality care in the nursing department. Manage and monitor proper utilization of human, financial and physical resources. Participate in the formulation, monitoring and implementation of policies, guidelines, practices, standards operating procedures, programmes and regulations pertaining to Nursing Care. Maintain constructive working relationship with nursing personnel and other stake holders and initiate and participate in training and development of staff and provision of support to Nursing Services. |

| Willingness to work shifts, public holidays and weekends to manage hospital after hours, when required. Good verbal and written communication skills in at least two of three official languages of the Western Cape. |

Remuneration:

Grade 1: R 497 193-R 559 686 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
