| A minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. | Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least one year, accredited with SANC in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science. |

| Good managerial, supervisory, motivation, negotiation, interpersonal, problem solving, change management, decision making, disciplinary and conflict management skills. Good leadership and organizational skills and ability to function under pressure. Sound knowledge and understanding of the : Psychiatric department policies, guidelines and SOP’s, and Nursing and Health Services related Acts, Legislation and Policies. Computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge and skills in conducting research and compiling comprehensive reports. |

| Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. |

| Supervise, support, guide, and lead staff to render quality care in the psychiatric department at your facility. Manage and monitor proper utilization of human, financial and physical resources. Participate in the formulation, monitoring and implementation of policies, guidelines, practices, standards operating procedures, programmes and regulations pertaining to Nursing Care. Initiate and participate in training and development and research within the psychiatric unit and nursing department, and provision of support to Nursing Services. |

| Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, night duty, and perform overtime as required. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. |

Remuneration:

R 627 474-R 703 752 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
