| A minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period of the above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific specialty after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification a mentioned above. |

| Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least one year accredited with the SANC in Advance Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: Child Nursing. |

| Good managerial, supervisory, and decision-making skills. Computer literate (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge and insight of legislation and policies, relevant to current nursing practice within the Public Service. Disciplinary and conflict management skills. Good leadership and organizational skills and the ability to function under pressure. Ability to function independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. |

| Holistic, comprehensive specialised nursing care provided within a professional / legal framework. Effectively utilized and supervised resources. Support effective practice development, education, and research activities/resources. Effectively delivered support service and management of human, material and financial resources to the Nursing Division. Maintain maintained professional growth /ethical standards constructive working relationships with nursing personnel and other stakeholders (multi-disciplinary teamwork). Function as a health care professional according to the applicable norms and standards. |

R 627 474-R 703 752 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
