| An appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist. |

| Assessment and treatment of community mental health patients. Contribute to the development and implementation of Occupational Therapy programs in the community. Follow the relevant policies and SOPs within the Occupational Therapy field. Administrative duties. Develop objectives and action plans for own area of work. Co-ordination of services in the district. Contribution to the awareness, promotion of mental health, and prevention of mental illness. |

| Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. This concession is only applicable on health professionals who apply for the first time for registration in a specific category with the relevant council (including individuals who must apply for change in registration status). The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant Occupational Therapist posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert. No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. |

| Good interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literate (Microsoft Office). Knowledge of PFMA, Ideal Clinic, and other relevant policies, protocols, and guidelines. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care. Report writing skills. Analytic thinking, independent decision making and problem-solving skills. |

| Grade 1: None after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist. Minimum of 1 year relevant experience after registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist. Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist. Minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service as required in South Africa. |

Remuneration:

Grade 1: R 376,524 -R 430,512 per annum, Grade 2: R 439,755 -R 501,630 per annum, Grade 3: R 514,785 -R 623,229 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
