Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Perform necessary administrative functions, train and supervision of subordinates. Control over tools and materials. Mainly painting related duties. Maintenance and repairs by painting, glazing, skimming installations of Drywalls, ceilings and spray- painting of equipment at Hospital buildings. Repairs and Service of infrastructure equipment at Facilities, according to standards and relevant regulations. Occasional Support in Plumbing Carpentry and Building Departments Take control of Job cards assigned. Assist the Artisan Foreman in certain Duties assigned. Emergency breakdowns (including afterhours repairs). Planning and décor of new installations and alterations.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
A valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willing to travel throughout the Western Cape.
 
Minimum educational qualifications:
Appropriate Trade Test Certificate. (In a building related trade).
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good communication skills. Sound Knowledge of mainly painting as well as any other Building related trade like: (Carpentry, Plumbing, Building). Sound knowledge of the SANS 10 - 400 Building Regulation. Be conversant with the requirements of the Machinery and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Must have a knowledgeable experience to install ceilings drywall and skimming of walls and ceilings and painting.
 
Experience:
Grade A: No experience required. Grade B: At least 18 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate. Grade C: At least 34 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade A: R 230 898 - R 256 263 per annum, Grade B: R 270 915 - R 300 675 per annum, Grade C: R 314 751 - R 386 775 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
