Physiotherapist Grade 1 to 3 (2 posts)

Inherent requirement of the job:
Ability to work after hours for ERAS(Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) calls. Computer literacy. Willingness to work overtime.
 
Requirements Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapist.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Assess and treat patients in Trauma, Oncology, Maternity, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic, Acute Spinal Cord Injuries, OPD, Medical, Surgical, Cardiothoracic wards as well as High Care and Intensive Care units associated with these wards. Be responsible for administration related to patient care as well as departmental administration. Management of assets in allocated work area. Assist in the clinical supervision of undergraduate students.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA in respect of RSA-qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Physiotherapist in respect of RSA-qualified employees. A Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA a Physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Physiotherapist in respect of RSA-qualified employees. A minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge of applicable health legislation, relevant Acts and Public Service Policies and Procedures. Good problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. Appropriate, clinical experience as a Physiotherapist in an acute and specialist/tertiary hospital. Ability to supervise undergraduate students in a tertiary setting. Ability to work independently. Ability to work within the MDT. Ability to problem solve, organise, and prioritize patient treatments/discharge plans. Ability to work under extreme pressure.

Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 376 524 - R 430 512 per annum, Grade 2: R 439 755 - R 501 630 per annum, Grade 3: R 514 785 - R 623 229 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
