Experience:
Appropriate experience in the operating of a switchboard.
 
Minimum educational qualifications:
General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std. 7).
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Handling of all incoming and outgoing calls as well as telephonic enquiries. Ensure effective and efficient communication, both internally and externally between staff, clientele and the general public. Processing and distribution of monthly telephone accounts. Keep monthly statistics. Provide clerical and administrative support to the supervisor. Monthly update of the telephone extension list. Receive and ensure accurate distribution of faxes and other messages.

The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within the Chief Director: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
The ability to operate switchboard equipment effectively and efficiently. Excellent telephone etiquette. Able to communicate effectively.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
The ability to work, day and night shifts, on weekends and public holidays Physically able to hear and speak clearly.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 183 279 - R 215 892 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
