Physiotherapist: Grade 1 to 3

Minimum Requirement:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions council of South Africa (HPSCA) as a Physiotherapist.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Deliver a physiotherapy clinical service to patients at the Hospital. Perform administrative processes relating to smooth running of a physiotherapy department. Managing own time, materials, equipment and self at the level of service delivery stock control and other assets. Taking upon oneself the responsibility for the CME programs to meet the CPD strategy Demonstrating awareness of own developmental needs. To ensure quality training of students.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good interpersonal skills, leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of applicable health legislation, relevant Acts and Public Service Policies and Procedures. Appropriate, clinical experience as a physiotherapist in an acute hospital environment.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA in respect of RSA-qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a physiotherapist in respect of RSA-qualified employees. A minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a physiotherapist in respect of RSA-qualified employees. A minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a physiotherapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa.
 
Registration with a Professional Council:
Registration with the HPCSA as Physiotherapist.
 
Note:
Short listed candidates will be subjected to a written/practical and oral assessment. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview.” This concession is only applicable on health professionals who apply for the first time for registration in a specific category with the relevant council (including individuals who must apply for a change in registration status). The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within Wesfleur Hospital for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Willingness to work as a physiotherapist within the multidisciplinary team at Wesfleur Hospital. Competencies (knowledge/skills).
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 376,524 -R 430,512 per annum, Grade 2: R 439,755 -R 501,630 per annum, Grade 3: R 514,785 -R 623,229 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
