Tradesman Aid (Technical Services)

Inherent requirements of the job:
A valid (Code B) driver’s licence and willingness to travel. Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skilfully and safely. Ability to perform heavy physical labour.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to handle tools, parts and materials. Ability to work in a team and independently. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in tasks performed in a maintenance workshop within a hospital setting. Appropriate experience of workshop tools.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Carry out minor maintenance and repairs tasks. Assist with repairs and emergency breakdowns (including after hour’s repairs). Assist with the installation of plant equipment and alterations. Assist with the control and requisitioning of material and parts. Clean areas where work has been carried out. Ensure that all tools and materials are available before commencing any tasks. Assist the Artisans in the execution of their respective duties.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Grade 10 or equivalent.

Note:
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates will be subjected to a written/practical and oral assessment. The pool of applicants will be considered for other similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 163,680 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
