Food Service Aid

Inherent requirements of the job:
Ability to work overtime, shifts which include weekends and public holidays when needed Incumbent must be physically fit to lift heavy objects and be on their feet for long periods of time.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in a large-scale industrial Food Service Unit.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Assist in the receipt and storage of all provisions and stock in the foodservice unit. Pre-preparation and production of all normal and therapeutic diets. Weighing, dishing and distribution of food to various wards. Cleaning of all areas, utensils and equipment in the Food Service Department. Adhere to Health and Safety prescripts, elementary control measures and standard operational procedures.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge of production for normal and therapeutic diets in an Industrial Foodservice Unit on a large scale. Knowledge of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP and safety principles. The ability to read, speak and write.

Note:
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Short listed candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment. The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant similar posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 138 486 - R 163 131 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
