Community Liaison Officer

Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
• Ensure that all governance structures remain constituted within the CWD. • Act as a liaison between governance structures and the CWD Sub Structure/MEC’s office. • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on various community activities and campaigns • Promote health services, using various communication methods and tools within relevant community health forums, meetings, and health-oriented organizations. • Data collection, reporting and record keeping of relevant information and documentation. • Support the Safety Promotion Coordinators to coordinate the ABT and collaborative initiatives to promote integrated violence prevention efforts. • Support to the CWD Director, Sub Districts and collaborate with the Communications Officer. • Active involvement in CWD units to stay informed about key decisions, challenges, and initiatives.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate 3-year National/Degree in Social Science/Social Development/Communication.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in facilitating community participation.

Note:
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical test as part of the interview process. The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within Cape Winelands District Office for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Understanding of Project Management and evaluation of projects. Understanding of communications to community and skills to deal with local media. A working knowledge of Health-related regulation pertaining to the district health council, the hospital boards and clinic committees. Good coordination, project management and training skills. Good problem-solving skills. Computer literacy (Ms Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 397,116 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
