Basic R425 qualification (i. e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with SANC in Occupational Health Nursing Science. |

Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum period of 14 years actual service and/or appropriate/ recognizable post-registration experience in General Nursing. At least 10 years of this period must be appropriate/ recognizable experience in the Occupational Health and Safety after obtaining the relevant 1 year post basic qualification in Occupational Health Nursing Science. |

No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a written/practical and oral assessment. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. This concession is only applicable to candidates who apply for the first time for registration in the post basic qualification in: Occupational Health Nursing Science with the South African Nursing Council. The pool of applicants will be considered for other similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services for a period of 3 months from date of advert. |

Practical knowledge of Occupational Health and Risk Management. Practical knowledge of research methodology and Quality Management. Knowledge of the Mental Health Care Act, Child Care Act, Nursing Act and other relevant legislation. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel & Outlook). |

Promote wellness and prevent injuries & diseases. Provision of Advisory services on OH & S matters. An effective and efficient Administrative System/Control for the Occupational Health Clinic. Provision of occupational Health clinical services and a safe and healthy workplace. |

Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. |

Remuneration:
|
Grade 1: R 476,367 per annum, Grade 2: R 583,989 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
