Patient Care Assistant Internship (12-month contract) (19 Posts)

Experience:
Appropriate experience working as a Carer in a Healthcare setting.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Assist with the basic needs of patients. Assist nursing with admission and discharge of patients. Maintain a Professional and Healthy work environment. Assist with administrative duties.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Between the age of 18 – 35.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7) Home Based Care/Ancillary Health Certificate (AHC) (6 months accredited course).
 
Competencies (knowledge/ skills):
Good interpersonal relations with supervisors, colleagues, and the public. Ability to function in a group. Ability to lift patients and stand for long hours.
 
Note:
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment. The pool of applicants will be considered for other similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
