Clinical Programme Coordinator Grade 1 (Clinical Nurse Training)

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
A valid driver’s licence. Willingness to do after hour call duties based on operational requirements. Willingness to travel and work between Brooklyn Chest Hospital and DP Marais Hospital.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. (This dispensation is only applicable to posts of Clinical Programme Coordinator where it is an inherent requirement of the post incumbent to maintain registration with the SANC).
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Coordinate and facilitate the development and the implementation of orientation/ induction programme in clinical areas. Coordinate and facilitate the development of learning opportunities for all nursing personnel. Manage and administer the implementation of the informal nurse training programs and assist with formal clinical training programs. Manage the clinical accompaniment/ mentorship programme. Effective Management and utilization of human resources.
 
Competencies (knowledge/ skills):
Good interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practises and how this impact on service delivery. Ensure clinical practice by the nursing team (unit) in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Demonstrate a basic understanding of HR and financial policies and practices Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care by the nursing team. Computer literacy in MS Office.

Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 549 192 - R 629 121 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
