Staff Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (2 posts)

Competencies (knowledge/ skills):
Ability to interpret basic clinical signs and symptoms. Knowledge of Nursing Practices and IPC, control measures and practices. Ability to lift and turn patients, stand long hours and lift heavy equipment. Willingness to rotate between departments. Good communication skills. Basic Computer Literacy. Self-discipline.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Development and implementation of basic patient care. Provide basic clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of physical and financial resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.
 
Experience:
Grade1: None Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years recognisable nursing experience as an enrolled nurse after registration with the SANC Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years recognisable experience as an enrolled nurse after registration with the SANC.

Minimum educational qualification:
Qualification that allows registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
 
Registration with a Professional Council:
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
 
Note:
Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. This concession is only applicable on health professionals who apply for the first time for registration in a specific category with the relevant council (including individuals who must apply for a change in registration status). The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant Staff Nurse within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Willingness to work night duty, weekends and public holidays as well as overtime.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 220 614 - R 250 500 per annum, Grade 2: R 262 287 - R 298 932 per annum, Grade 3: R 306 798 - R 382 107 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
