Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/ recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific speciality after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification as mentioned above. |

A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to work shifts, Sundays, public holidays, night shift and overtime. |

Basic R425 qualification (i. e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. Post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least one year accredited with the SANC in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: General or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: Trauma and Emergency. |

Good communication skills. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how this impact on service delivery. Effective interpersonal, leadership, organisational, decision making and conflict resolution skills. Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). |

Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Provision of Support to Nursing Services. Provide holistic specialized nursing care to patients in a cost-effective manner. Effective implementation of infection control policies and health and safety legislation. Effective manage and utilize human and material resources. Participate in training, development and research within the nursing department. |

No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. This concession is only applicable to candidates who apply for the first time for registration in the post-basic qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: General or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: Trauma and Emergency. The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within Garden Route District for a period of 3 months from date. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment. |

Remuneration:
|
Grade 1: R 476,367 per annum, Grade 2: R 583,989 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
