Senior Administrative Officer: (Finance) (Forensic Pathology Service, SCM)

Inherent requirements of the job:
A valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB). May be required to work overtime.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate 3 year National Diploma or Degree in Finance / Supply Chain Management / Public Administration.
 
Experience:
Appropriate supervisory experience. Appropriate experience in Public Service Supply Chain Management. Appropriate experience in the procurement of Goods and Services and Asset Management. Appropriate experience in system functions, BAS, Logis and Electronic Procurement Solutions (ePS). Appropriate experience in a Public Service Finance environment.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer Literacy in Microsoft Package (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel) Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Organisational, managerial, leadership skills and an aptitude for working with financial figures. Appropriate knowledge of relevant Finance prescripts, Supply Chain Management prescripts, departmental policies, delegations and procedures. Strong people management and supervisory skills, ability to work in a team context and motivate team members. Knowledge of PFMA, Finance instructions, Provincial and National Treasury regulations, as well as Accounting Officer System. Ability to communicate clearly and discreetly in person and writing.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Ensure an effective and comprehensive Supply Chain Management service is rendered to the Directorate. Effective maintenance of assets of the Directorate. Effective Management of Finance and Expenditure Control and Fleet Management. Efficient support to the Manager of the Component. Efficient Supervision of staff.

Note:
No Payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates may be subjected to a practical assessment. The pool of applications will be considered for vacancies within Forensic Pathology Service, Head Office, for a period of three months from the date of the advert, provided that the job title, core functions, inherent requirements, and salary level are the same as those of the advertised post.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 397 116 - R 467 790 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
