Senior Security Officer

Note:
Only officials employed by the Western Cape Provincial Government will be considered for this post.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Able to communicate both in writing and verbally in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Knowledge of relevant prescripts, regulations and procedures. Ability to write reports. Computer literacy (Windows and Ms Word). CCTV surveillance and control room practice.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience as a Security Supervisor. Appropriate Security Control Room operator experience. Appropriate CCTV surveillance systems operator experience.

Registration with a professional council:
Registration with PSIRA at the level of Grade B.
 
Requirements
Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Supervise security control room and general staff management and liaise with management. Office administration: compile rosters, administer leave, performance monitoring, allocate duties, discipline of subordinates. Ensure Access/Egress Control is exercised effectively and efficiently. Ensure that effective patrolling of the buildings, parking areas and the perimeter fencing. Contract compliance, monitoring and management of the Private Security in terms of the SLA. Conduct investigations and complaints with regards to thefts, undermining activities, unauthorised entries. Liaise with the SAPS and all other law enforcement agencies.
 
Inherent requirements:
Willingness to work shifts and be available on a 24-hour basis. A valid (Code B/EB) or higher drivers licence. Physically fit. Must be prepared to rotate and be allocated to various zones within the Hospital complex. Must be prepared to undergo a NIA security clearance.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 173 703- R 204 612 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
