Administrative Officer: Finance (Patient Administration/Medical Records)

Note:

Experience:
Appropriate experience in Patient Administration related environment.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer literacy, including AR (Accounts Receivable), BAS (Basic Accounting System), and Clinicom. Knowledge of using the various Hospital Information System reports for monitoring and reporting. Ability to interpret and communicate financial instructions, revenue notices, standard operating procedures, PFMA and Hospital Fees Memorandum 18. Knowledge to implement patient administrative related prescripts, finance instructions and medical records policies. Ability to analyse, prioritise, and solve problems, this includes implementing improvement processes. Strong sense of responsibility with good supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of staff performance management, and disciplinary processes.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Manage and monitor accurate patient registration and cash collection activities as per PFMA, finance instruction and revenue notice. Drive quality services in the Patient Administrative and Medical Records department. Manage human resources, labour-related matters, disciplinary processes and staff performance evaluation of staff under your supervision. Interpret, communicate, and timeously implement finance instructions, revenue notices, and medical records instructions. Manage the filing, secure storing, retrieving, tracking, retention and disposition of medical folders as per relevant retention and destruction prescripts.

Requirements
Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with extensive experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KPAs) of the post.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) drivers licence. Willingness to travel and work after-hours when required.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 257 508- R 303 339 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
