EMS Station Manager Grade 3 to 6

Inherent requirement of the job:
Current registration as an AEA, ECT, CCA or ECP. Valid code C1 driver’s licence. Professional driver’s permit.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Ensure effective and efficient operational management of the District. Provide the patients manifest and list daily. Ensure patients arrive on time and external concerns are addressed and resolved. Ensure that all Health net vehicles in the District are maintained and in working condition. Ensure optimal utilization of seating capacity on all pre-defined routes. Ensure that discharges from central and regional hospitals are transported within 24 hours.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Excellent knowledge of all levels of emergency care protocols. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
 
Experience:
Grade 3: Minimum of 3 years experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA). Grade 4: Minimum of 3 years experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Emergency Care Technician (ECT). Grade 5: Minimum of 3 years experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Paramedic. Grade 6: Minimum of 3 years experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).
 
Registration with a professional council:
Grade 3: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an AEA. Grade 4: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an ECT. Grade 5: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Paramedic. Grade 6: Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an ECP.
 
Minimum educational qualifications:
Grade 3: Successful completion of the Immediate Life Support (ILS) that allows registration with the HPCSA as Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA). Grade 4: Successful completion of the Emergency Care Technician Course (ECT) that allows registration with the HPCSA as Emergency Care Technician (ECT). Grade 5: Successful completion of the Critical Care Assistant course (CCA) or National Diploma that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Paramedic. Grade 6: Successful completion of the B-Tech Degree that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).

Note:

Remuneration:
Grade 3: R 318 042 - R 360 258 per annum, Grade 4: R 386 358 - R 441 768 per annum, Grade 5: R 455 109 - R 490 290 per annum, Grade 6: R 505 113 - R 569 004 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
