Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (General: Clinical Nursing Training)

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Basic computer literacy and presentation skills. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Ability to promote quality patient care through the setting, implementation and monitoring of standards. Ability to function independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Degree/Diploma in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Facilitate and teach the clinical programs developed for the clinical areas in the general nursing. Facilitate the in-service training/updating of skills and competencies as well as the orientation programme for nurses in the general nursing. Evaluate/assess the competencies and skills of nursing personnel. Effective management of clinical teaching programs in the general nursing. Ensure the accompaniment of nursing personnel. Effective Management and utilisation of human resources.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration as a professional nurse with SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing. Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing.

Inherent requirement of the job:
Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
 
Note:

Registration with a professional council:
Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 256 905 - R 297 825 (PN-A2) per annum, Grade 2: R 315 963 - R 362 865 (PN-A3) per annum, Grade 3: R 383 226 - R 485 475 (PN-A4) per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
