Requirement:
An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Excellent demonstrable mechanical and electrical skills and building experience. Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel), competently able to create basic spreadsheets, formulas and graphs. Effective communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
 
Experience:
Minimum 5 years experience as Artisan in a Hospital after obtaining the Trade Test certificate. Post-Trade Test experience to include Supervisory, electrical and mechanical experience.

Note:

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Repairs and maintenance at hospital and Primary Health Care Facilities. Control and supervision of workshop staff. Apply budget and expenditure control. Take responsibility for security of workshop tools, facility, equipment and materials. Personnel evaluation progress reports. Training of subordinates. Liaison with engineering management and private sector to co-ordinate and facilitate completion of ad-hoc projects. Standby duties and work after hours. Writing of detailed specifications for material and outsourced work.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) drivers licence and willingness to travel, do standby and work overtime.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade A: R 304 263- R 344 640 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
