Experience:
Appropriate experience and knowledge of Finance.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Computer literacy. Working knowledge of assets and liabilities. Accounts knowledge and experience of Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Public Finance Management Act.

Duties (key results areas/outputs):
Render clerical assistance to the Administrative Officer in the Finance Section. Ensure payments within 30 days of receipt of invoice. Assist with the Accounts Maintenance and Processing of payments. Allocation control which includes capturing of payments and journals on the BAS system, obtaining documents and completion of forms. Ensure, where possible, all payments are processed on LOGIS. Management of debtor accounts on BAS (Basic Accounting System). Management of maintenance/clearing of assets and liabilities accounts. Management of petty cash. Safe-keeping of documents. Register and distribution of telephone accounts. Register and clear all advances.
 
Requirements
Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.
 
Inherent requirement of the job
Valid (Code B/EB) driver's licence and willingness to travel.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 173 703 - R 204 612 Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
