Requirements
Appropriate 3 year National Diploma or Degree.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Appropriate experience in a public Health Care statistical environment. Understanding of Public Health Information Systems, e.g. Clinicom, SINJANI, PERSAL, BAS, BMI, LOGIS. Excellent writing skills, e.g. editing and formulating documents. Understanding of financial accounting and Cost Centre Management/FBU in a Health environment. Appropriate experience with Budgeting Principals and Planning. Excellent computer skills with advance knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Knowledge of data base management, data filing and collation. Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Good interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in Cost Centre and Management Accounting practices.
 
Duties (key results areas/outputs):
Ensure effective implementation of Functional Business Unit reporting structures. Develop and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports for management (i.e. Financial, Budget/Expenditure, Personnel, Patient Statistics and Research). Data analysis, prepare and present reports as well as accurate and timeous reporting. Plan and assist in the Budgeting Process and Cost Centre Management of Functional Business Units (BMI). Sustain, update and amend the Cost Centre Masterfile and structures. Provide guidelines, train and assist hospital staff in Cost Centre Management and Budgeting. Assist with operational and statistical matters including supervising staff in the IM unit. Effective reconciliations between BAS and the various feeder systems. Regular and/or Ad Hoc reconciling of Cost Centre or FBU requisitions.
 
Note:
Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a practical test. Only applicants within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 316 791 - R 373 167 Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
