A minimum of 9 years appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 4 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate experience at a management level. |

Basic R425 (i.e. Degree/Diploma in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. |

|
Knowledge of the relevant statutory and policy frameworks. Knowledge of quality assurance, infection prevention control and occupational health and safety. Knowledge of human resource and financial management. Leadership skills. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (written and verbal) and the ability to work on MS packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). |

Provide strategic management and leadership for the Nursing Department and participate in executive management decision-making. Ensure quality of nursing care programs, including maintenance of norms and standards for professional practice. Responsible for clinical governance for nursing services. Manage financial resources, procurement, budget control, assets for designated areas. Comprehensive human resource management and development. Ensure the collection, analysis and provision of accurate data and information. |

Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to be on call and available in cases of emergency. |
