Appropriate 3-year Health related National Diploma/Degree registrable with a South African Statutory Health Professions Council or South African Nursing Council.

Experience:
Appropriate Quality assurance experience. Appropriate experience in a Tertiary Hospital environment.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge and experience in quality assurance, risk management, project management, occupational health and safety and infection control. Sound interpersonal, leadership, managerial and communication skills. Computer literacy including completion of databases. Ability to capture and interpret relevant data.

Note:
Only applicants within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Responsible for effective co-ordination of care and risk management programs; quality assurance programs; occupational health and safety programs and infection control programs. Supervise outbreak investigations and provide support to managers and staff. Promote research, education and development of staff with respect to quality assurance and risk management; health and safety and infection control principles. Develop policies and procedures to enhance quality of service delivery. Monitor and assist with improvement in technical quality as well as staff satisfaction. Provide effective leadership, guidance and supervision to subordinates.

Inherent requirement of the job:
Willingness to work shifts and cover for colleagues in areas.




Remuneration:
R 470 040 per annum - R 553 677 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
